Hotel Santa Maria ad Nives welcomed its first guests in the late 1940s thanks to the Cavulli family from Bologna who generously welcomed clients throughout the year: Italians, Germans, English…
Even then the name of the hotel was “Santa Maria ad Nives”, after Our Lady of the Snows who was greatly revered in Val di Fassa.
The hotel was run by the Cavulli family up until the early 1980s.

At that time, the Catholic Action of Vicenza was looking for a house in the Dolomite Mountains where they could conduct their summer youth formation camps. The Bishop, Monsignor Onisto, purchased Santa Maria ad Nives and gave it to the Catholic Action who maintained its function as a hotel.

For the past 30 years, the Catholic Action of Vicenza has conducted their camps for young people and families at the hotel for a few weeks in the summer, while the hotel is open to guests for the rest of the year, Italians and foreigners, young people and adults.

From 2000 to 2007 the hotel was completely refurbished and renovated to ensure compliance with current safety regulations: today all of our rooms have en-suite bathrooms, Wi-Fi and flat screen TV.

What do you expect from a 2 star hotel? That is be welcoming, clean and simple. We will never be a luxury hotel, but we believe that simplicity is like the charm of a daisy: would you every say that a daisy is ugly?

We do everything we can to make sure that our clients are comfortable, so that they can enjoy a relaxing and exciting holiday.
